A Beautiful Day in the Autumn Garden

Here in Manhattan, Kansas, we’ve been having unseasonably warm weather this October with recent day time highs hovering around 80 degrees F. (It is actually supposed to get up to 85 here tomorrow.) So it seems as though nearly everyone is giddy over the sunshine and warm temperatures. I took advantage of the weather today to get some photos of the gardens. Enjoy!

Daily Prompt: Next Door

Looking eastward, this is our next door neighbor’s porch as seen through one of our “Summer Snowflake” viburnums.  The trees, in  summer, create a delicate white-flowered screen between the two houses. In winter, though not flowering, they still provide interest and, from certain angles, allow just a peek at next door.

Daily Prompt: Singin’ In the Rain

Rarely does the Daily Prompt fit my day quite so well as today. With gentle rain showers on and off this afternoon – the kind that sinks into the soil without beating up the plants – I felt like singin’ in the rain with joy for my plants and with relief that I didn’t have to drag hoses around today. Instead, I walked around in the rain and photographed my garden. I hope that you enjoy the images!
