No worries about the past or the future, just enjoying the moment in time.
Weekly photo challenge: time.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
Morning fog, engulfing the Manhattan Public Library, making everything seem to stand still and “now” to stretch on and on in the quietness.
This week’s photography challenge theme: now.
Yesterday’s Post, Now: Late Christmas Day.
The garden was mostly in shadow the other morning, except for some warm sunlight on my Beauty Berries just after sunrise. From winter’s weather, the berries are a bit faded from how they looked a few months ago, but I am happy to still have even a little color in the garden.

Looking eastward, this is our next door neighbor’s porch as seen through one of our “Summer Snowflake” viburnums. The trees, in summer, create a delicate white-flowered screen between the two houses. In winter, though not flowering, they still provide interest and, from certain angles, allow just a peek at next door.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
For more on the Daily Prompt …
Each month, I write a newsletter called The Morning Star Update. A semi-regular feature is book recommendations from our guests at the B&B. So I was pretty pleased with the theme for today’s prompt.
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss is a novel that I plan to read over the weekend. It was recommended to me by a delightful guest who has stayed with us a number of times; and I have enjoyed the other books that she suggested to me over the years. (Read a review of it from the NY Times.)
Wishing you a lovely weekend and a good book to read!
For more on the Daily Prompt …
During winter months, my flowering houseplants remind me that spring shall soon return and I will once again be out working in my beloved garden.
Orchid buds, showing promise for the future …
Photos are from this morning. Have a lovely day!

This is Purple Haze. Except for a tinge of magenta on the outer petals, the coloring of this rose is a very soft mauve or lavender. It makes a lovely cutting rose, for which reason it is popular with florists, though I haven’t been able to find it at plant nurseries.
This particular bloom is left over from a wedding here at the Bed & Breakfast last weekend. So you might be wondering why I chose to photograph it for the Daily Prompt given that today’s theme is dull.
Since it is drizzly and gray out today, it occurred to me that if I photographed the bloom outside the its color would illustrate dull in the sense of soft or not-intense while the weather would illustrate dull in the sense of as overcast or dreary … my intent being to show a little beauty on an otherwise dull day.
