Last night I went out on the front porch of the B&B and was startled by the hues of the setting sun. I ran inside for my camera, took a few shots from the porch and headed up the street for a better vantage point. I’m guessing that I took these photos over about a 15 minute period. For the last shot, I really zoomed in on the sunset. The view made me feel like I was in the mountains. Our sunrises and sunsets have been unusually bold lately due to the fires in Colorado. It is sad to think that something so destructive helped to produce these beautiful colors.
Just spent the weekend at a photography class, brushing on my old skills with new technology. We had threats of thunderstorms, which set up some nice skies, but no sunsets… or rain.
I responded to your nomination of my blog for the Virtual Blogger Award. My style is a little different. Enjoy the read.

I enjoyed the post on blogging stats. When I first started my blog, i couldn’t figure out how on earth anyone found it.
I’ve been “offline” for a few days. Will you be posting photos from your class?
Laurie
I’ve been working extra days and hours to cover for co-workers on vacation, thus my slow response. I’ll have more to post about blogging statistics later. I may not post specific photos from the class, but hopefully those which I post will have improved composition & technical style 🙂
Thanks for the mention. You handled the nomination well.
Stunning sunsets indeed. Last Tuesday, despite of the on and off rain, I also had a glimpse of the sunset before it faded away outside Houston. It was amazing. It is sad to hear though about the fire in Colorado. Nature can be a vision of beauty or destruction.
We’re quite far behind in rain this year. The local creeks are completely dried up. The rivers aren’t too far behind.
I love your sunset and sunrise photos. I have a series of framed sunset photos that I’ve taken over the years in my travels. They sit at the foot of my bed, they’re so relaxing to look at!
That’s a wonderful idea.
Laurie
Beautiful!
Thank you! It is pretty rare that I get to see the sunset because I am usually working.
Understand that!

Thank you so much. I am delighted that you like my blog enough to nominate me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Since I accepted that from someone else a while back, I feel like I should let you pass it along to another blogger. I hope that doesn’t sound unappreciative … because I do appreciate the nomination.
