These are photos of my Marilyn Monroe rose that I took this morning. Brrr …
Marilyn Monroe is considered an apricot-colored rose, but the color of rose blooms is often affected by temperatures and seasons. This last bloom of the year was a true pink, but with lime green outer petals – stunning, even in the cold.
Lovely colors! gorgeous 🙂
Thank you, Niki. I was so glad to have gotten those photos. It turns out that was my last rose for the ’12 garden.
Brrr. She does look cold. Do you have a JFK rose near by to keep her warm? HA! Such beautiful blooms…
Ha! Ha! That would be pretty funny.
What a pretty picture and with such details!
Thank you, Anne! It was such a crisp morning, the frost really showed up.
Pretty capture.
Is that snow or heavy frost?
It is frost. I think that the rose was actually frozen. Our low temps have been in the mid-20’s the last few nights and I took those pictures fairly early this morning. Thanks for the note, David!
Nothing quite like good old fashioned roses is there? Is it scented? I suppose it should be a bit like Channel No5 with a name like that
Actually, yes, Marilyn Monroe does have a very nice fragrance.
