I was amazed by what a beautiful country NZ is. I hope that you get there some day : )
My first guess was somewhere in the southwest for Dakota bad-lands (the hint of layers of red rock, between layers of mudstone from volcanic ash). Would love to get to New Zealand some day. We flew over your neighborhood a week ago, coming and going from a trip to CA to visit family. Mostly looked like clouds and dust of snow. We awoke to 7F this a.m. Brrrr! Bet you are cold too.

It has been quite cold here. But today we are supposed to make it up to 50. Our weather has been extremely variable this winter. It sounds like you have been doing quite a bit of traveling. I enjoyed your posts from Africa.
