Fortunately the worst of Winter Storm Draco, which passed through the midwest last night and this morning, missed us in Manhattan, Kansas; but we did receive our first snowfall of the year. Here are some pictures that I took this morning. It was quite cold, by the way – in the teens early on. Brrr …. I kept having to pop back in the house because my fingers were going numb and I couldn’t adjust the controls on my camera. I’m glad to be inside and warm again!
Super festive photos. Thank you and Happy Christmas!
A very merry Christmas to you as well!
As often happens the storm blew north of our region of the Appalachian Mountains. We had two days of wind and flurries blowing sideways. Today it cold but calm. Time for outside chores.
Oscar
Hello, Oscar. You had a big snowfall during Sandy, didn’t you? It is supposed to turn quite cold here this week – highs in the teens. I don’t think that I’ll be doing many outdoor chores.
We had about 6 inches from Hurricane Sandy. However, when one of the weekenders e-mailed to check, we told them that it was 70*F in Cape Town, where we were at the time. The snow was gone by the time we returned home.
Lovely. Finger-less gloves help a little bit!
I definitely need to get some! Thanks for the suggestion!
The blue sky after a snowfall is always so pretty.
Yes, it is. My mother always says that she loves blue-and-white days.
Beautiful photos Nancy. Happy holidays!
Sorry, I mean Laurie. This is the last time I multi-task while commenting.
No problem : ) I’m glad that you like the photos!
It’s just gorgeous! I don’t get snow where I am unless I drive up to the mountains. And looking at your photos, it really feels like the holidays! So thanks for sharing. 🙂
I am very pleased that you enjoyed the photos! Thank you for your note!
Gorgeous pictures! I always love the purity of a fresh snow fall.
Thanks, Bernice!
Love the snow pictures! I hope it sticks around for Christmas Day!
Thanks! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Worth a little pain.
Thanks : )
Very pretty snow pictures. I especially like your red lantern one.
We only had a dusting of snow from the same storm, with the heavier amounts to our north and east. Very cold nonetheless, with temps near zero early this morning. Stay warm. 🙂
Glad to hear that you weren’t hit too badly. I think that all around us got it worse than we did.
You have such good perspective. I’m always amazed at how you see things through your lense.
Thank you, Tara!
